Two ultras. Two very different parts of Nottinghamshire.
We put on friendly, well-supported events for runners and walkers who fancy spending a day covering a fair bit of ground.
Whether you are chasing a time, trying your first ultra or simply hoping to make it round in one piece, we’ll do our best to give you a good day out.
Trent Valley Ultra 50K
15 May 2027
A scenic 50K through the villages and countryside of the Trent Valley, using footpaths, bridleways, tracks and quiet roads.
There are well-stocked checkpoints every six to eight miles, straightforward navigation and plenty waiting for you at the finish, including local food, entertainment and the Milestone taproom.
Finishers also receive a commemorative event pint glass. It seemed more useful than another medal.
Oak & Coal Ultra 50K
17 July 2027
Starting and finishing at Ticking Clock Brewery in Shireoaks, the Oak & Coal Ultra explores the woodland and former colliery villages of North Nottinghamshire.
The route passes through Clumber Park and follows parts of the Robin Hood Way and Cuckoo Way, with around 1,700 feet of climbing along the way.
Four well-stocked aid stations and a ten-hour cut-off should give most people a fair chance of getting round. Afterwards, there will be music, local food and beer at the brewery.
You’ll receive a bespoke Oak & Coal pint glass too, provided you remember to take it home.
